St. Patrick's Day Celebration

Spring Walkabout
Twenty members joined last week to visit nearby businesses including Pelo, Tea and Spice Merchants, Beer Trappe, and Bear and the Butcher. Thank you for the support of participating businesses and all who attended. More to come!
APNA Tree & Landscape Committee
This committee maintains our green spaces and plantings, having planted over 150 trees in our common medians and park spaces during the last 20 years. Volunteers water young trees in summer, freshen mulch around trees in fall, and coordinate city crew mowing and city arborist tree work for the benefit of our wonderful Ashland Park forest. We also provide special care for our trees that are susceptible to blight, borer, beetle, weed growth, etc. We're always welcoming new members that enjoy a bit of sunshine and hands in the dirt! Join us!

Memorial Trees & Markers
APNA members can place a small granite marker (like the one in Harvey Park) by new or existing trees in our APNA neighborhood in honor or memory of someone.
The city can provide a free small tree or members can purchase a tree from an approved list of species. APNA will provide the marker for $125 from an approved vendor.

APNA Walkabouts
APNA Walkabouts to local businesses -- small groups walk (1 block!) offering our hello and thanks to nearby small businesses. Chevy Chase Hardware, Oram’s Florist, World’s Apart Boutique, Farmers Jewelry are but a few. We learn a lot -- did you know the hardware store sharpens knives and repairs window screens?
We admire these neighbors and tip our hats to them! Fun fact: just these four neighbors (combined) have been open three times as long as Ashland Park has existed!
